Let's name our bunch:
Hubby is "Funny pants" cause he can really make you laugh
C is "Smarty pants" cause he always knows something about something random. Some of it is right, some of it is completely made-up, but the boy can teach you some things- this week he taught me about chlorophyll
G used to be "bossy pants" when we made these names up a year and a half ago, but she has since outgrown that stage for the most part, so I will rename her "sweetie pants" cause she is the sweetest, most compassionate child that we have
E is still "sassy pants" as she is smart as a whip and thinks that she is 25
J used to be "poopie pants" but I will rename him "cutie pants" cause I hate to bring up poop on a blog and hopefully we can start the potty training process soon.
I was named "pretty pants" by funny pants, so since I am the author, I won't refer to myself that much- so I will keep the name.
I will begin with last Sunday. After church (great drum-playing hubby) we raced to eat and then off to the hockey rink for smarty pant's game. He is a phenomenal goalie and his team won 6-2!
It is so cold in there! Sassy and Sweetie have fun running up and down the bleachers and poor cutie gets so upset when he can't...
The next day, I awoke to the news that Sassy was receiving an award at school. Wouldn't you know it that I dressed her in a track suit. Not cute enough for an awards ceremony, but she was already at school when I learned about it via email. Nothing like last minute notice... So, as the only parent that could go on such short notice, Cutie and I made our way to the school. Have you ever been in a gym as an adult with hundreds of kids aged 5-7 screaming, screaming and screaming.... whew- it was loud. BUT, I was so happy cause I got to see Sweetie and Sassy as they go to the same school. I was concerned because I didn't want Sweetie to think bad about herself since Sassy was definitely getting an award, but I had a feeling that Sweetie would probably receive recognition too. The students had no idea who was receiving the 4 awards per classroom and Sassy and Sweetie both thought that I was there for the other one. They announced 2nd grade first and then 1st and wouldn't you know it, our Sweetie got best overall effort for her class! She was pumped. She got to participate in the relay, received her certificate and a free kids meal to Applebee's!
Next up, Sassy's class- she was the last one called in the entire Kindergarten class. Her reaction to her "Best Reader" award was priceless!

She did the relay and won in her class division. Getting her to be still long enough for a photo was nearly impossible and cutie was so over being there, then finally, as she exits the gym- she turns and gives me a huge beaming proud smile.

The next day, Wednesday, was Scarecrow day at school for Sassy. Hmmm.... what to do..... I bought a $3 scarecrow at a craft store, stripped off the burlap sweater and twine, stapled the "hay" to the inside of the sleeves, took my own straw beach hat and attached leaves that I had already, a couple of pumpkin picks and a bird that I spray-painted black to look like a crow and voila! You have a scarecrow outfit for less than $6.

Poor sassy had to go the doctor's office after school due to a concern that I have about her development. She had to have a blood panel drawn and she freaked out! Poor baby had to be held down by me, funny pants and two nurses. We will learn the results next week.
So what was cutie up to this week? SOOOO much! Here are some pics of the sweet cutie!
As you will see, cutie thought that he was hilarious running from mommy as she tried to capture his cuteness.

Funny pants had oral surgery yesterday- not so funny, but he is well and we are staying at home. I bought him the Madden 09 video game to keep him still. He is doing very well!
There you have it, our week in a blog. It took me a long time to do this one- hopefully it gets easier cause cutie is ready to explode since I am on my computer!
